Children visiting the Museum in the run up to Christmas had the chance to win a cuddly gingerbread toy by joining our Gingerbread Trail.
From the start of December to 1 January they could find the gingerbread figures and the presents they wanted around the galleries. Then they had to find the cuddly one and give it a name. All those who took part had the chance to pick a small prize but the big one went to the first name drawn out of the box on 2 January.
That was Jasper Deeming of Glenthorn Road, Bexhill. Jasper, who is four years old, chose the name George. He is pictured clutching his prize with his mum and dad and brother Harrison.
By far the most popular names chosen were variations of “ginger” – there were 32 of those. There were seven Bobs. Jonah from Bexhill took inspiration from the motoring gallery by choosing Elva.
We also liked: Tarquin (Theodore, Bexhill); Hugo (Dylan, Seaford);Jetty (Seren, London); Buttons (Leo, Ashford and Magnus, Bexhill); Jondus (Barney, Hastings); Dude (Esther, Battle); Snowflake (Oliver, Maidstone); and Cinnamon (Sophie, Bristol).
