Barry Enefer was a quiet, gentle man who, with his family, moved to Bexhill in the 1960s. At the time of his death, on 17th May 2016, when he was aged 85, he was living in Danes Court Close.
He was an avid collector of anything to do with trams and trolley buses. He was a a well-liked and very enthusiastic member of both the Hastings Tramways Club and the Hastings Trolleybus Restoration Group - for those interested, the Hastings Tramways Club was formed in 1992 by a group of people with a common interest in the history of Hastings Tramways and the Hastings Trolleybus Restoration Group is a small band of volunteers dedicated to the restoration and preservation of Hastings Trolleybuses. They re-built and re-furbished a trolleybus, which is affectionately known as Happy Harold. It’s fully roadworthy and makes appearances in Hastings where he will carry members of the public.
When Barry died, he made a bequest to the Bexhill Museum of his photograph and postcard collection and these have been scanned and appear on the relevant sections – just follow the links below.
