In 1906, Egerton Park was extended west to Brockley Road and on this new piece of land the Park Pergola was created and opened in 1908. It had a concert platform at the west end and could seat 1,100 people.
The Pergola was converted into the Egerton Park Theatre in 1933, and this was also used for indoor bowling.
