Over the years our Museum has amassed a large collection of images of old photographs and postcards – showing a variety of things, including people and events, all of which are Bexhill-related. The Museum’s aim is to identify, categorize, and arrange these images into folders that the general public can view from this Access Centre. The project was started in June 2016 and, over time, will be enlarged as time allows. In the meantime, please use the following instructions to view the available images.
On this page appears a listing and clicking on the subject of interest will take you directly to the relevant gallery. Click on the image you are interested in and an enlarged version will appear. If a larger image is required please click again and the image will expand. In some cases, due to the size of the original, this can be enlarged even further. If the image you are looking at is one of these a symbol will appear at the top right of the image and clicking on this symbol will enable you to increase the size. You may need to scroll both horizontally and vertically to see the entire image. Please note that not all images will have this facility.
As stated above this is an exciting, new section and, as time goes on, more images will be added – so please continue to visit the Museum to see what has been added. You never know – you might be in one of the images!
