Benjamin married Mary E. Connolly (1888-1965) in 1925. When he died Benjamin still lived at 41 Little Common Road and he left an estate of £3,601
First World War Experience
Benjamin enlisted some time before 1916 and he was wounded on 27th August 1916. A notification appeared in a local newspaper stating “Private Benjamin Hoadley, Royal Sussex Regiment, was wounded on 27th August (in his elbow). He is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs Hoadley, 41 Little Common-road, Bexhill. He is now in England in hospital.”
Benjamin was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
