Leon BALK entered into partnership with Otto BROWN around 1905, under the Company name of “BALK & BROWN”.
At that time, Leon was operating a photographic studio at 116 Langney Road, Eastbourne, while Otto (born 1883, Long Sutton, Somerset) was a young artist who had previously worked as a photographer in Hampshire.
How and when they met, and why they decided to set up a partnership, is unknown but,  as “Balk & Brown”, they operated a photographic studio at 69, Devonshire Road, Bexhill-on-Sea, which was where Otto Brown was based,  while Leon Balk remained at the studio in Eastbourne.
