First World War Experience
He visited Bexhill with the ‘London Engineers’ camp, most likely pre-war.
Alfred enlisted in Toronto on 30th December 1915. He served for four years with the 5th Canadian Mounted Rifles, and saw service in France and Flanders. He was awaiting repatriation to Canada when he succumbed to pneumonia at Ripon Military Hospital in 1919 and died. He is buried in Bexhill Cemetery.
