Family Information

Parents:          James Walter Mansfield, born 1858, and Sophie Mansfield, born 1862, nee Willmott.

Siblings:         Walter, born 1885; Horace, born 1892; Arthur (1898-1942); Kate (1900-1961); Ethel (1903-1905).

In 1911 the family were living at 4 Ram Yard in Cambridge.

First World War Experience

Herbert enlisted on 10th August 1914 and was killed on Friday, 4th September 1914, in North East France.  He was awarded the Victory Medal, the British War Medal, and the 1914 Star.
